Taichung World Flora Exposition ~ Puppet Show Summit

5 - 12 March, 2019 / Taichung, Taiwan

Sky Bird Puppet Group (Hong Kong) is invited to perform in the “2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition ~ Puppet Show Summit” on 5 to 12 March, 2019. It is organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government and co-organized by the Taichung Sheng Wu Zhou Puppet Troupe.

There are totally 13 countries and many Taiwan local puppet troupes to join this activity. The performers come from Tunisia, Spain, Germany, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, Brazil, Argentina and Singapore. It is a good chance to share different puppet styles in the International Flora Exposition in Taiwan.

We are the only team from Hong Kong. Our show topic is “Chinese Tradition”. Three main Chinese puppet styles are shown. They are string, hand and rod puppet. The show includes <Monkey King Kung-Fu>, <Puppet Fighting>, <Fan Dance> and <String Puppet Party>. Also, the puppeteer demonstrates the control skills and finger practice with the audience. Mr Fai Handsome (Chinese clown) links up the whole show.

Leader Cheung Chun Fai says: “it is our honors to share the Chinese traditional puppet art in Taiwan. It is so happy.”
